ACI – Accident and Incident Investigation – E-learning

Short summary

The ACI Accident and Incident Investigation course covers the fundamentals of preventing and investigating airport accidents and incidents. Participants learn about causes, prevention methods, investigation procedures, effective interviewing, investigator roles and skills, report writing, and monitoring outcomes. The course includes an online assessment, and a Certificate of Completion is awarded upon passing.

Objectives

The ACI Accident and Incident Investigation course will explore the fundamentals of accident and incident prevention and investigation. Participants are trained in the deployment of defences for the prevention of accidents and incidents and in the approach to and execution of accident and investigation processes at their airport.

This course trains participants in:

• the causes and consequences of accidents and incidents
• accident and incident prevention
• the procedures forming part of a professional investigation at the airport
• effective interview techniques
• the role and responsibilities of an investigator
• the personal qualities, knowledge and skills of an investigator
• the importance and content of a detailed, fact-based report
• the methods used to monitor investigation outcomes

This course includes an integrated online assessment. Candidates must successfully complete the assessment to receive a Certificate of Completion.
