The course teaches participants to work safely with internal commercial vehicles, such as forklifts and electric stackers. They learn about different types of vehicles, loading principles and safety procedures. The training consists of theory and practice, with a focus on moving loads safely and performing safety checks. Upon completion, participants receive an Ahlex Certificate, and the driving licence is valid for 5 years. The training lasts 4 days.
Forklift - Basic Training - 3 days Learn how to handle a forklift safely. Improve productivity, profitability and efficiency in handling, storage and loading. Prevent the risk of workplace accidents and improve safety. Hands-on, safety-focused training with personal attention to each participant.
Day 1 Theory
The function of a forklift operator. General and professional responsibilities. Overview of regulations. Equipment: Forklift (different types) Reach truck Start of shift. End of shift. Loading principles and loading procedures Theoretical exam Day 2
AM Practice: Introduction to equipment, start of shift, driving without load, end of shift PM Practice: Loading principles and loading procedures, driving with load
Day 3
AM Practical: Stacking, general exercises, practice course PM Practical exam Ergonomics - Physical movement of loads - 0.5 day
This training teaches basic techniques to responsibly lift and move loads manually. The acquired techniques significantly reduce the potential risk of accidents.
Theory
Practical exercises to implement the elements covered in the theory part of the course. Implementing an LMRA (Last-Minute Risk Assessment) within this specific context.
The theoretical part of the training includes concrete examples of good and bad handling in addition to physiology and ergonomics.
Feedback from participants Frequency of back injury accidents Anatomy Types of back problems (anatomical causes and movements) Preventing back problems (postures, avoiding overloading, physical fitness. Motivation Practice
Exercises “manual handling”: handle loads in a safe way Be able to recognise risky postures and correct postures Know and apply the different techniques, which reduce the risk of back injuries, for moving goods
Working with an electric stacker - 0.5 days Acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to learn how to work with an electric stacker effectively and safely. To train operators so that they can preventively report defects/faults, thus preventing accidents/injuries. Teach operation, load handling and driving techniques to reduce damage to the environment caused by transport.
Theory
Performing a safety function The different types of electric stackers and their characteristics The safety regulations: environmental risks, driving techniques and safety rules when driving Inspection of the devices as lifting equipment Important concepts regarding the structure of the electric stacker and its controls Concepts relating to stability Reading a load diagram Correct and safe load handling The elements that make up the start-up check, notification requirement and the procedure for taking the appliance out of service Checks to be carried out after work: Correct parking, charging batteries Practice
Perform start-up check, recognise dangerous defects and report them Check inspection documents and apply safety rules Use controls correctly Connect and disconnect batteries Use good driving technique: move forward and backward, turn, park Interact with pedestrians and other drivers Perform the correct sequence of operation Assessing distances, depth and height
Drive across, remove load and put it back in storage racks Move loads through narrow passages Drive on a ramp and load a container Apply order and tidiness and set up safely
