G4S Aviation Security / Bruxelles Formation
From security procedures to pride and responsibility
A blended security culture workshop for G4S security agents and supervisors.
Security is the backbone of every airport operation. Behind every safe passenger journey stands a team of security agents and supervisors carrying a major responsibility: protecting people, operations and trust. For G4S, the challenge was therefore broader than refreshing procedures. It was about reinforcing the culture and professional mindset that make security effective every day.
AHLEX developed a blended workshop for G4S staff focused on Security Awareness, Security Culture, Corporate Identity, Social Responsibility and Performance Expectations. The aim was to reconnect participants with the meaning behind their role and show how individual behaviour contributes to the safety of millions of travellers and to the reputation of both G4S and the airport community.
The workshop was deliberately pragmatic, playful and inspiring. Interactive sessions, real-life scenarios and blended learning formats helped participants explore familiar security principles from a fresh perspective. Rather than treating training as a box-ticking exercise, the programme invited agents and supervisors to translate security values into daily decisions, communication and teamwork.
A central theme was intrinsic motivation. By exploring what it means to belong to a respected organisation, participants were encouraged to take pride in their role and understand the impact of their professionalism. Security became more than a set of rules: it became a personal contribution to a safe, reliable and welcoming airport environment.
The training also reinforced the standards and values that define G4S. Participants examined rules of engagement, social responsibility and the behaviours expected from members of a reputable security community. This connected corporate identity with concrete actions on the ground and clarified how consistency, integrity and accountability support operational performance.
Supervisors received particular attention as role models. Their behaviour sets the tone for the teams they lead, influencing how colleagues approach protection, performance and collaboration. The workshop encouraged supervisors to reflect on how they demonstrate expectations, support their teams and build a shared sense of responsibility.
Ultimately, the workshop was about strengthening security culture through both knowledge and motivation. By combining awareness with pride, identity and responsibility, AHLEX helped G4S reinforce workforce engagement and create greater consistency across teams.
The result is a culture in which security is not only understood, but lived. Agents and supervisors are better connected to the purpose of their work, more conscious of their influence and more equipped to contribute to the trusted security environment that passengers, partners and airport operations depend on.
