Students explore digital learning at AHLEX
International students exploring digital learning and gamification in an aviation training environment.
As part of an international programme organised by UC Leuven-Limburg, 30 students came together at AHLEX to explore digital learning. The visit added a practical dimension to their programme by connecting their research and ideas to a real training environment.
The day started with an introduction to AHLEX and our role in the aviation sector. This gave the students a better understanding of the environment in which they would spend the day and showed how digital learning and innovation are used within a professional aviation context.
The students then took the lead by presenting their own research on best practices in game mechanics. Their findings formed the basis for an open exchange of ideas on how gamification can support learning, engagement and decision-making. With students coming from Finland, Romania, the Netherlands, Hungary and Belgium, the international setting also brought different perspectives into the discussion.
The programme concluded with an onboarding session in our digital experience training centre. Here, the students were able to experience a digital training environment first-hand and see how experiential learning can be translated into practice.
It was an inspiring and engaging day, marked by curiosity, exchange and fresh perspectives.
