The full Cluster2 story

A 1-week immersive leadership journey combining crisis simulation, airport exposure and international best practices.

During the first week of February 2026, AHLEX welcomed Cluster2 from Saudi Arabia for an International Airport Leadership Programme designed to strengthen leadership skills through real-world aviation exposure and hands-on learning.

The programme was built around the belief that leadership in aviation is best developed through experience, interaction and immersion. Together with our partner ICS Aviation, AHLEX designed a week that combined structured learning sessions with operational insights and interactive simulation.

Throughout the week, participants used AHLEX facilities for workshops and discussions, supported by expert contributions from aviation professionals across different domains. Around 10 experts shared knowledge, case studies and best practices, offering participants a broad view of airport operations and leadership challenges.

A key highlight was the crisis management simulation delivered by AHLEX trainers in a realistic and interactive environment. This session allowed participants to experience decision-making under pressure and was widely praised as one of the most impactful elements of the programme.

The group also visited Brussels Airport, where they explored landside and airside operations as well as APOC. In collaboration with Airport Intelligence, additional case-based insights and TAM training elements were integrated into the visit, creating a strong link between theory and practice.

To complete the experience, AHLEX also coordinated catering, a guided tour in the city of Brussels, and a networking dinner, ensuring opportunities for informal exchange and relationship building throughout the week.

The feedback from Cluster2 was highly positive, with participants particularly valuing the organisation, the practical relevance and the immersive nature of the programme. The crisis simulation stood out as a defining moment, and the group expressed strong interest in returning for future collaborations.

This programme further reinforces AHLEX’s role as a partner in delivering impactful, international, experience-based aviation learning journeys.
