Basic aviation security training compliant with EU Regulation 2015/1998 (Art. 11.2.2) for personnel performing aviation security tasks, providing essential knowledge on aviation threats, security procedures, regulatory requirements and operational responsibilities.
This training is intended for all personnel performing aviation security tasks as defined in EU Regulation 2015/1998, including the activities listed in sections 11.2.3.1, 11.2.3.4, 11.2.3.5, as well as sections 11.2.4, 11.2.5 and 11.5.
The target audience includes, but is not limited to:
Security personnel responsible for the screening of persons, cabin baggage, items carried and hold baggage
Security personnel conducting vehicle inspections and security checks
Security staff responsible for access control, surveillance and patrols within airport premises
Personnel directly supervising staff implementing security controls
Individuals holding overall responsibility for aviation security at national or local level, including those responsible for ensuring that security programmes and their implementation comply with all applicable legal requirements (security managers)
This training ensures that all personnel involved in aviation security activities within the airport environment have a clear understanding of aviation security principles, regulatory obligations and their individual responsibilities in maintaining a secure aviation system.
After completing the training, participants will acquire the fundamental knowledge required to perform aviation security tasks in compliance with applicable regulations. They will understand the main threats to civil aviation, including previous unlawful acts and current risks such as the use of improvised explosive or incendiary devices.
Participants will gain knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework governing aviation security and the roles and responsibilities of the authorities involved.
The training will enable participants to understand the organization and objectives of aviation security measures, including screening procedures, access control systems and identification badge management. Participants will learn how to recognize prohibited items, respond appropriately to security incidents and follow correct reporting procedures.
The course also addresses human factors, communication skills and the importance of maintaining a strong security culture, enabling participants to contribute effectively to the prevention and detection of unlawful acts within the aviation environment.
Before participating in aviation security training that includes non-public security information, the employer must ensure that:
A standard background check has been completed
The employee has been assessed as reliable and suitable to access sensitive security information
By registering employees for this training, the organization confirms that these requirements have been fulfilled.
