Summary

This Cybersecurity Awareness course provides employees with a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental principles of cybersecurity within the civil aviation environment. The course is developed in accordance with EU Regulation 2015/1998, Article 11.2.8, ensuring that personnel working with IT systems within the secure aviation supply chain meet the required training standards.

Participants gain an understanding of the main cyber threats affecting the aviation sector and the potential impact of cyber incidents on airport operations, business continuity, and the protection of sensitive information. The course highlights the importance of cybersecurity awareness, secure digital practices, and the responsibility of every employee in preventing cyber risks and protecting critical systems.

By combining theoretical knowledge with practical operational examples, participants learn to recognize cybersecurity threats, apply appropriate preventive measures, and respond effectively to potential cyber incidents within their working environment.

Target Audience

This training is mandatory for employees working within the secure logistics chain of civil aviation who use or interact with IT systems and who have not yet completed another recognized aviation security training.

Typical participants include, but are not limited to:

  • Administrative personnel working with aviation systems
  • Logistics and operations staff using digital platforms
  • Personnel managing cargo, passenger or operational data
  • IT system users within aviation-related organizations
  • Staff handling sensitive information within the aviation supply chain

Every employee interacting with digital systems plays a role in protecting aviation infrastructure from cyber threats.

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the main cybersecurity threats affecting civil aviation
  • Recognize the importance of protecting aviation IT systems and data
  • Understand the legal and regulatory framework for cybersecurity in aviation
  • Identify cmmon cyber risks such as phishing, malware, and unauthorized access
  • Know how to respond appropriately to cybersecurity incidents
  • Understand their individual responsibility in maintaining cybersecurity

The course concludes with an examination. Minimum score of 80% requested.

This training, compliant with EU Regulation 2015/1998 – Article 11.2.8 and based on the National Civil Aviation Security Training Programme (NCASTP), is offered in collaboration with Special Cargo College, a training organisation recognised by the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) for this module.
