IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for Processing or Accepting DG Consignments – Basic 7.3

Short summary

Transporting dangerous goods by air requires strict compliance with IATA regulations. During this four-day training course, participants will learn how to correctly identify, pack, label and document dangerous goods according to the Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR). Aimed at freight forwarders, handlers and airlines, the training covers both theoretical and practical aspects, including packaging specifications and handling procedures. Upon completion, participants receive an IATA certificate, valid for two years. Optionally, an additional module on radioactive materials can be followed. Training available in Dutch, French and English.

This training is suitable for the following target group(s):”

• Mandatory training course for all employees responsible for the packaging and handling of – and issue of shipment documents for –  “Dangerous Goods” shipped by air.
• PC-226 members will not be charged for the Dangerous Goods Basic training course, although registration on www.logosinform.be will be required.

Objectives

The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) for Processing or Accepting DG Consignments Basic training course is mandatory for all forwarders, handlers and airlines that ship “Dangerous Goods” by air. It can be supplemented with an additional module on radioactive materials, but this is not a legal requirement.

I currently serve as Security Manager (Regulated Agent), LQR for pharma, and Global Quality Manager. Since 2002, I’ve been a certified IATA Dangerous Goods trainer and continue to teach in schools and industry. I now focus on CBTA-based training in dangerous goods — especially radioactives — while staying active in the field. Every role I’ve held reflects my commitment to safety, compliance, and knowledge-sharing in air cargo logistics.
