IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for Processing or Accepting DG Consignments – Refresher 7.3

Summary

This mandatory refresher course updates participants on the latest IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and reinforces the knowledge and practical skills required to continue processing and accepting dangerous goods consignments for air transport safely and in compliance with current regulations.

Target Audience

Personnel holding a valid IATA Dangerous Goods certification that is about to expire and who remain responsible for processing or accepting dangerous goods consignments for air transport (Function 7.3).

Objectives

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

• Apply the latest IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) when processing and accepting dangerous goods consignments.
• Refresh their knowledge of the classification and identification of dangerous goods.
• Verify the current packaging, marking, labelling and documentation requirements.
• Identify errors, discrepancies and non-compliances before accepting a shipment.
• Process and accept dangerous goods consignments in compliance with the latest regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the safe and compliant transport of dangerous goods by air.

Additional information

The course concludes with an examination. Minimum score of 80% requested.

Optionally, an additional module on radioactive materials can be taken.

A good command of English is recommended, as all training materials are provided in English.

With 20+ years in airfreight, I started in an airline before co-launching a freight forwarding branch in Belgium. Curious by nature, I gained hands-on experience across booking, flight planning, operations, and leadership. My expertise spans air export/import, pharma, live animals, radioactive cargo, customs, and special logistics. I currently serve as Security Manager (Regulated Agent), LQR for pharma, and Global Quality Manager. Since 2002, I’ve been a certified IATA Dangerous Goods trainer and continue to teach in schools and industry. I now focus on CBTA-based training in dangerous goods — especially radioactives — while staying active in the field. Every role I’ve held reflects my commitment to safety, compliance, and knowledge-sharing in air cargo logistics.

I held key roles at Brucargo and HQ, co-leading station start-ups and managing global standards and security programs.
