Seizing and extending of critical loads – IS-006 – Refresher

Short summary

During this course, you will learn to strike and point out critical loads correctly, efficiently and safely. This includes loads with an unknown centre of gravity or without fixed attachment points, as well as precision work. Theory covers legislation, risk analysis, arrest techniques, lifting equipment and safety regulations. In practice, you practise the correct choice of lifting equipment, determining the centre of gravity and lifting according to a lifting plan. The course concludes with a theoretical and practical examination. If you pass, you will receive a certificate valid for 5 years. Participants must be at least 18 years old and medically fit. Training available in Dutch and French.

Target Audience

Employees who, on a company site in facilities or workshops, have to hoist and move critical loads and/or coordinate these works when carrying out lifting works.

Objectives

• Acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to handle critical loads correctly, efficiently and safely. Critical loads are defined as
• loads whose centre of gravity is unknown and/or which do not have permanently defined attachment points.
• Loads that must be positioned with great precision and therefore must be secured with great accuracy.
