Short summary

Working with an overhead crane involves specific risks. During this one-day training course, you will learn how to operate a cable-operated and remote-controlled overhead crane safely and efficiently. You will gain insight into applicable legislation, preventive maintenance measures and proper stop techniques. Theory covers risk analysis, inspection requirements, load handling and emergency procedures. In practice, you will practise start controls, conventional communication signals and accurate manoeuvres. The course concludes with a theoretical and practical examination. After successful evaluation, you will receive a certificate. Ideal for anyone working with an overhead crane. Participants must be at least 18 years old and medically fit. Training available in Dutch and French.

This training is suitable for the following target group(s):

  • Employees working with a rolling bridge with cable operation and/or remote control.

Objectives

On completion of this course, candidates will be able to:

  • Acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to learn how to operate an overhead crane efficiently and safely. 
  • Train operators so that they can report faults preventively and thus avoid accidents and injuries. 
  • Teach operating and driving techniques to reduce environmental damage caused by transport.
