Summary

This training provides inexperienced participants with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to safely and efficiently operate a self-propelled aerial work platform. Participants learn about safety procedures, stability, fall protection, equipment inspections and safe driving techniques. Theory and practical exercises focus on recognising risks and developing the skills needed to operate an aerial work platform safely in different working environments.

Target Audience

  • Inexperienced operators with little or no prior experience using a self-propelled aerial work platform
  • Employees who need to operate an aerial work platform as part of their job
  • Employees who need to obtain an IS-005 certification

Objectives

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Perform a pre-use inspection of an aerial work platform
  • Identify and assess risks associated with working at height
  • Apply the correct safety and fall protection measures
  • Operate and manoeuvre an aerial work platform safely and efficiently
  • Identify and report defects or unsafe situations
  • Apply emergency and shutdown procedures correctly

Additional information

Participants must not have a fear of heights.

Important: appropriate safety equipment and PPE are required during the practical part of the training.

This course is only available in closed sessions.
