Working with a overhead crane – IS-011

Summary

Operating an overhead crane safely and efficiently is essential to prevent accidents, injuries and damage to goods. During this training, participants acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate an overhead crane, handle loads correctly and apply the appropriate operating techniques. The course combines theory and practical exercises and leads to an official BESACC certification.

• Employees whose job involves operating an overhead crane
• Warehouse, production and maintenance personnel using an overhead crane
• Employees who need to obtain an official overhead crane certificate

Objectives

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

• Perform a pre-use inspection of an overhead crane
• Apply safe operating techniques and safety procedures
• Handle and manoeuvre loads safely and accurately
• Determine the correct lifting method and attachment points
• Identify and report defects or unsafe situations
• Operate an overhead crane in accordance with applicable safety regulations
