Working with a forklift – Basic – AV-001

Short summary

This basic course teaches employees to operate a forklift safely and efficiently in a warehouse or production environment. Theory covers forklift types, stability, safety rules, load handling and environmental care. In practice, participants practise driving techniques, breakdown control, safety procedures and interaction with pedestrians. The training lasts two days and concludes with a BESACC certificate. Participants must be at least 18 years old and medically fit. Available in Dutch and French.

Target Audience

Any employee who has to perform simple operations with a forklift truck in a warehouse or production environment (tasks with a low level of difficulty, in an open space, repetitive simple work without time pressure).

Objectives

• Acquire the knowledge and skills required to operate a forklift truck efficiently and safely.
• Drivers learn to report faults/defects preventively and thus prevent accidents/injuries.
• Learn operating, load handling and driving techniques to limit environmental damage and driving techniques to reduce environmental damage from transport.
