Working with a reachtruck – Basics

Short summary

Operating a reach truck safely and efficiently is crucial to prevent damage and accidents. During this 1-day or 3-day training course, you will learn proper driving techniques, load handling and safety rules to recognise breakdowns and act correctly. You will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge about stability, operation and interaction with others on the shop floor. The training concludes with an exam and, if passed, you will receive a certificate valid for five years. The training is available at various locations and can be tailored to specific needs.

Target Audience

This training is suitable for the following target group(s): Any employee who has to work with a reach truck as their main task, where the tasks have a certain level of difficulty (stacking at height, in more limited space, under time pressure, intensive loading and unloading, in a place where people are walking around).

Objectives

Forklifts and reach trucks are indispensable in logistics and industry. You will find them in every warehouse and factory hall. Expertise is essential for driving a forklift or reach truck. These types of vehicles can become unstable if they are poorly loaded or during sudden movements or sharp turns. In this training you will learn:

• Acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to learn to work with a reach truck in an effective and safe manner. 
• Report preventive defects/malfunctions and thus prevent accidents/injuries. 
• The operation, load handling and driving techniques to reduce damage to the environment due to transport.
