Short summary

Dangerous goods require strict compliance in handling, storage and loading. This 3-hour e-learning is designed for ramp staff, airlines and ground handlers. Participants learn to identify dangerous goods, recognise labels and packaging specifications, and apply emergency procedures. Regulations around passenger and crew baggage are also covered. The training concludes with a certificate that is valid for 2 years and is available in Dutch, French and English.

Target Audience

• Operator’s and ground handling agent’s staff involved in the handling, storage, and loading of cargo or mail and baggage (ramp staff).

Objectives

Certain regulations must be followed so that dangerous goods shipped by air do not endanger aircraft, passengers, or crew.

The Dangerous Goods Regulations for Handling and Loading Personnel course introduces the regulations concerning the transport of dangerous goods by air.

These include regulations on labelling, packaging and storage.

Upon completion of this course, the participant will have an overview of :

• Identification and classification of dangerous goods
• Recognise and identify dangerous goods labels and packaging specification markings
• Be familiar with the shipper’s declaration and other relevant documents
• Know the allowances for dangerous goods contained in passenger and crew baggage
• Be familiar with emergency response procedures for dangerous goods
