Introduction to aviation

Summary

This training is intended for people considering a career in the aviation sector who want to increase their knowledge of the airport environment. Participants are introduced to the functioning of the airport industry, the different areas of an airport, and the specific sites and infrastructure that are important at Brussels Airport.

The training also focuses on airport and cargo terminology, the operation and main components of an aircraft, relevant regulations, and the various operational companies active at an airport.

The main passenger and cargo processes are also covered, together with a basic introduction to firefighting equipment and the Internal Emergency Plan (IEP). This gives participants a broad and practical understanding of the airport environment and the professional communication used within the sector.

• Understand the main airport regulations and the roles of different operational stakeholders
• Describe the main passenger, baggage and cargo processes
• Recognise basic airport firefighting equipment and understand the principles of the Internal Emergency Plan
• Better understand professional communication in an operational airport environment
• Strengthen their basic knowledge and employability within the aviation sector
